As you can imagine we receive hundreds of emails telling us to check out a new tool, platform, service or product. Not too many pass our test for ease of use, purpose, cost-effectiveness - meaning affordable for the average small business. Canva did.
What is Canva?
A simple and new way to design. For those small businesses without a marketing department or a designer to call upon. According to The Webbys, Canva is 'the easiest to use design program in the world'.

Canva gives you everything you need to easily turn ideas into stunning designs. Create designs for Web or print: blog graphics, presentations, Facebook covers, flyers, posters, invitations and so much more.
We played with Canva a little on the weekend, (the image in this blog was created in Canva in less than 5 minutes) it was fun, easy, with drag and drop tech, oh - and surprisingly fast for a completely web-based program -- no software to download. There wasn't a long delay waiting for images to populate. There are 100s of fonts and over 1 million images to choose from. The tool itself is free with many images being free as well. You will find the best source of images on the site will cost you - but get this - they are only $1. Mind you -- if you create 3 different ads with the same photo, you will have to buy the image 3x. Canva is working on allowing multiple use licensing, but it is not available just yet. Of course, you can upload your own images.
